After my stay at the Borgata on a recent Friday night, I decided to head to the city and stay at the Westin Times Square.  The Westin here is usually a $200+ hotel or 25,000 points so I try not to stay here too often even though it is very conveniently located.Untitled

The hotel itself is very nice with an indoor entrance to the Regal theater and across the street from the Port Authority, AMC, and Dave & Busters.

Last time I stayed here I had issues with platinum recognition and I complained to the SPG twitter team and made my grievances known the the manager.  On this stay I was met with special recognition and upgraded to a Junior Suite and given a vouccher for breakfast for 2 at the hotest restaurant, Shula’s Steak House.

The room was pretty big as far as ones in NYC go and probably the only Junior Suite on the floor.

The room had 2 “parts” to it, separated by half a wall.  It was a Junior Suite so it didn’t have more than 1 room.

While the room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom felt small and cramped.  The shower pressure seemed a bit off and I really couldn’t help but compare it to the Borgata Fiore Suite bathroom from the night before even though I realize it really isn’t a fair comparison.

Overall, this stay was much better than the last one and had some nice touches.  The hotel is generally pretty pricey on a weekend night and requires a lot of points but the location is great and hard to beat.  Because of the location, I would probably come back here again but I wouldn’t redeem 25,000 points for a night since the the cash price is comparatively a better value.  There is also a C&P rate of 10,000 points and $180 but it really is not worth it.
