Milan is an interesting city because a lot of things that a tourist may want to see or experience is in a 2 mile area. The city has subways which makes it easy to get around but you should carry some cash if you plan on going that way. Otherwise, most of the main sights can be walked to. I did not have a problem walking to anywhere from the Westin, which is a bit on the outside anyway.
One of the major sites in the city is the Duomo of Milan, or the Milan Cathedral. It’s an interesting thing to see on the outside but I did not find the inside impressive. Unfortunately they did not allow pictures inside unless you paid for it.
There is also the Sforzesco Castle right in central Milan. It has a couple of walk though Museum areas in the area along with an interesting gift shop.
Strangely, right behind this majestic structure, there is a shady amusement park.
Milan also has some interesting and nice architecture, if you’re into that kind of thing. For me, it was just nice to look at.
Overall, Milan is a great city to visit if you don’t mind spending a bit. Europe in general seems to be more expensive for tourists than many Asian countries. I stayed there for 4 nights but I wouldn’t really recommend more than 2 since everything can be done in that time. Florence is just a short train ride away so maybe next time I would split my time between the two cities.
