I stayed for 4 nights at the Westin Palace Milan and 1 night at the Park Hyatt Milan. I wanted to stay here for a night just to see how this Park Hyatt compares with the only other one I stayed at, the Park Hyatt in Washington, DC.
I took a cab from the Westin Palace to the Park Hyatt which is about 1.5 miles away, much closer to the center and the shopping. Th hotel itself is very nice and simple from the inside. At the check in desk it took about 5 minutes to check in and another 5 to be escorted to the room. I received an upgrade to the Deluxe room and a free drink voucher. The room was fairly large an had a tea/espresso machine, a large TV, and a bucket of ice.
The bathroom looked very nice and had a decent layout, although the minibar was under the bathroom sink, which I found a bit odd. They also had Laura Tonatto branded amenities.
I didn’t stay for the breakfast because it was an early flight and it was €35 for the buffet which I thought was a bit pricey. There was also a lounge area where you could order drinks and some (very expensive) food. It seemed like a nice place to relax since it was pretty empty so I just had a cappuccino there.
Even though it was just a quick overnight stay, I found the service to be pleasant and the room to be spacious and clean. I especially appreciated having the ice bucket after the disappointment earlier in the week at the Westin. I would definitely want to stay here again, although for the price, the Westin is probably a better deal for most people.
